SOLUS 6400

Silver Conductive Paste for PV Applications

Paste Description:  SOLUS 6400 is a screen printable silver paste designed to reduce the contact resistance loss at the n+/p Si surface. The paste can be printed on a 200-325 mesh screen in a well ventilated room at a temperatureof about 25-30 oC. Drying of the paste typically takes 2-4 minutes in an IR belt dryer at a peak of 200-250 oC or about 5 minutes in a circulated air oven. Typical firing range is in the order of 750-850 oC depending on the thickness of the substrate and the weight of the wet film. A typical firing profile is shown in Fig. 1.

Technical Advantage: The paste is designed using a glass with low lead (Pb) content. SOLUS 6400 paste can be co-fired with the back contacts resulting in a minimal resistive loss and excellent solderability. The fired paste has maximum shunt and minimal series resistive losses on the uniformly doped emitter layer. The shelf life of the paste is in excess of 6 months if capped tightly after each use. SOLUS 6400 can be thinned if needeed to adjust the viscosity usisng Cermet's formulated thinner. Resistivity of the fired paste on a Cz substrate is stable over the recommended firing range.

Cermet always welcomes the opportunity to modify/customize our standard products to meet each customer's unique requirements and processes.
