SOLUS 6200
Aluminum Conductive Paste for PV Applications
Paste Description: SOLUS 6200 with its fired cross section shown in Fig. 1 is a fritless, screen printable, aluminum paste designed to provide a thick uniform back surface field for single crystal silicon solar cells. The paste can be printed using a 200-325 mesh screen in a well ventilated room at a temperature of about 25-30oC. Drying of the paste typically takes 2-4 minutes in an IR belt dryer at a peak temperature of 200-250oC or about 5 minutes in a circulated air oven. Typical firing range in an IR belt furnace is on the order of 880-930oC depending on the thickness of the substrate and the weight of the wet film.
Technical Advantage: The paste is designed to passivate the Al/Si interface for a two stage firing or a co-firing sequence thereby preventing the penetration of the Al/Si intermetallic solid solution through the oxidized Al-layer. This allows uniform BSF formation which tends to improve the red response of the solar cell. The shelf life of the paste is in excess of 6 months if capped tightly after each use. SOLUS 6200 can be thinned if needeed to adjust the viscosity using Cermet's formulated thinner. Resistivity of the fired paste on a Cz substrate is stable over the recommended firing range.
Cermet always welcomes the opportunity to modify/customize our standard products to meet each customer's unique requirements and processes.
